     The Paris Wife, by Paula McLain, initially caught my attention because it is obviously set in my favorite city but the story definitely held my attention.  It is a well-written novel based on Ernest Hemingway’s first marriage; he was married four times, so we already know the outcome.  Nonetheless, I enjoy this kind of historical fiction and I was hooked right away.      And why...

Blooming in my garden now
I planted this climber on the post of my patio cover three years ago and it is finally blooming.  It is a single five petal hybrid rose named ‘Sally Holmes.’  I understand it is a repeat bloomer that becomes even prettier in fall with pink tinged petals.  The closed bud has an apricot hue.
