On My NookColor: The Paris Wife
The Paris Wife, by Paula McLain, initially caught my attention because it is obviously set in my favorite city but the story definitely held my attention. It is a well-written novel based on Ernest Hemingway’s first marriage; he was married four times, so we already know the outcome. Nonetheless, I enjoy this kind of historical fiction and I was hooked right away.

Blooming in my garden now
I planted this climber on the post of my patio cover three years ago and it is finally blooming. It is a single five petal hybrid rose named ‘Sally Holmes.’ I understand it is a repeat bloomer that becomes even prettier in fall with pink tinged petals. The closed bud has an apricot hue.
